Reiki is useful for treating illnesses and injuries such as cancer, heart disease, insomnia, headaches, cuts and bruises, broken bones, lack of self-esteem and confidence. It can be used effectively in conjunction with other therapy treatments and can speed up recovery time. It is not necessary to know exactly how Reiki works, however, studies show Reiki stimulates the relaxation response, allowing the mind to become quiet and the body to settle into a state of deep rest.
A Reiki treatment allows the practitioner to tap into and focus the Universal Life-Force Energy. Reiki light dissolves blockages on all levels. It releases stress and revitalizes and balances the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical aspects of both the giver and receiver of Reiki. Reiki practitioners believe disease occurs whenever the flow of life-force energy becomes disrupted. When a practitioner lays his or her hands on an area of the body, the Reiki flow improves health and enhances the qualify of life. It can be applied to adults, children, animals, and plants. Reiki always works for good and therefore cannot cause harm.
You will be instructed in the Reiki principles, hand positions for self-treatment and treatment of others, and Reiki history. Then you will receive the 4 initiations. Once you have completed Level I you will be able to connect to the Reiki energy.
After meeting the practice requirements of Level I (treating of self and others), you become eligible for the next level of Reiki practice. In Level II Reiki, the student will learn to draw, pronounce, and apply three Reiki symbols. Once the teacher is satisfied that the student knows how to draw the symbols, pronounce their corresponding names, and apply the symbols in their practice then the teacher will perform the initiation ceremony. Having completed Level II you will know how to work more with the Reiki energy using symbols.
