Focus groups provide opportunities for individuals and community members to deepen learning and stimulate growth. In our fast paced daily life, a focus group allows us a regular time to cultivate wholeness by connecting to our common source of inner peace in the field of pure being beyond the constant dialogue of the mind.

Our first focus group begins on Sunday, May 4th at 5 p.m. We're posting the flyer we designed. The first meeting may change this format depending on the feedback from the group. The subject of discussions and/or study may change, however, silent meditation will remain a part of any revised format. Once the group establishes a firm format, content, and guidelines, it will be posted here. The Friendsville Group for Inner Peace

PURPOSE: To practice the presence of inner peace, compassion, and forgiveness.

The Friendsville Group for Inner Peace provides group participants an opportunity to cultivate inner peace, compassion, and forgiveness through quiet prayer, meditation, and open-hearted sharing.

The intent of the gathering is to learn:

To cultivate silence in order to move beyond the labels that divide us.

To dissolve guilt and fear through forgiveness and compassion.

To practice mutual respect and equality.

To practice open-hearted listening and sharing without judgement or condemnation.

To practice peace, compassion, and forgiveness in the presence of others and in our lives.

The first meeting will be held on Sunday, May 4th at 5 p.m. at the Friend's Gallery, 132 Walnut Street, Friendsville, Md. The meeting will consist of an opening prayer and a 20 minute period of silent meditation followed by a deeper discussion regarding the purpose of the group, the suggested guidelines, and the time of the weekly meetings. The meeting will end with a 5-10 minute period of silence.
